Project 2 - Photo Montage

The beginning of a much larger work, the piece began to develope more into an introduction. The piece consists of sketches and paintings created by me, desaturated and inverted to somewhat blurr the details of the sketch pieces. It is not simply about the work, though it is a montage of artwork stacked one upon the other. It shows where the oirgins of the concept started -- in the creation of illustration characters which cross between human and animal.

Though this project doesn't practice the notion, the larger project that this will be amended to will drive towards unpacking more than just the illustration side of concept. The final goal, will be to try and capture the essence of the genre, the mindset, and the inspirations for loving such work in the first place without having to stop and explain ever fragment of it along the way. Using all the work done before as a starting point to draw upon, I can determine what was successful and what wasn't -- and attempt to make a piece that stands completely on its own without the artist to support it.

I love the drawings! The only thing that threw me off a little was the constant repetition of the same drawing. It almost went a little too fast. Concept is definately clear and most transitions were smooth. Good work!

I think the flashing images expresses a fixation on the the illustrations which correspond with your goal to show to "capture the essence of the genre, the mindset" ......I am not sure about the "inspirations for loving such work" being shown within the comp. However, I do like how you handled your material to show the transformation from human to animal.

Still talking about furries and anthropomorphic creatures huh, the project looks very very similar to a project you did about a year ago. Though things are definitely a lot smoother now than your first one. I do like the flashes of color, is that a visible light source or just a solid color with varying opacity?

I think this would benefit from somehow indicating what you intend to do with these sketches that you have assembled together-especially in regards to the next project you mentioned. I think it was pretty well put together, but I do have to admit that i find the text a little confusing, particularly the line "this isnt the end a new understanding is coming'

I like the entry scene. The flashes is a bit too much and fast to me.
Look forward to see a more developed piece.

These drawings are nice. Seems like some kind of fantasy world, yet all the flashing colors were somewhat distracting!
